ALBAWABA- Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq has embarked on a two-day state visit to the UAE, arriving amidst ongoing recovery efforts in both countries following devastating flash floods and unprecedented rainfall.
Upon his arrival at the Abu Dhabi International Airport, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and his delegation received a warm welcome from UAE President Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed.
The Gulf leaders convened for an official meeting at an “extended” session held at Qasr al-Watan in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE.
This visit signifies the strong ties between Oman and the UAE and underscores their commitment to regional cooperation and solidarity during challenging times, as reported by Oman News Agency.
The visit follows a period of hardship for both nations, with dozens losing their lives and extensive damage to infrastructure caused by the recent natural disasters.
As they work together to overcome these challenges, the meeting between Sultan Haitham and Shaikh Mohammed Bin Zayed highlights their shared determination to address common issues, strengthen bilateral relations, and discuss pressing regional issues, particularly the situation in Gaza amidst the continued Israeli aggression on the besieged strip for 200 days.
