Suspected gas explosion in Taiwan leaves 1 dead and several injured

ALBAWABA - Taiwan just witnessed a horrifying incident that left at least one dead, and several injured in a suspected gas explosion inside one of Taichung City's department stores, as reported by Focus Taiwan. 

The incident occurred specifically inside the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department store. Videos of the incident swarmed several social media platforms, showcasing the explosion that took place inside the building's 12th floor.

According to the Taichung Fire Bureau, eyewitnesses claim that four individuals were blown out of the building's 12th floor after the explosion. The Fire Bureau added that firefighters and ambulances were immediately dispatched to the scene. 

By the time of reporting, the cause of the explosion remains unknown, but an investigation was launched to pinpoint the source. On the contrary, initial reports indicate that the explosion reportedly occurred due to a gas leak.
