A Swedish freelance journalist was recently released by Syrian government forces after having been captured near the Turrkish border, reports Reuters.
Joakim Medin, age 30, was captured by Syrian forces at a roadlock in the Syrian town of Al-Qamishli, near the Turkish border.
The journalist was held in captivity but was not treated violently, according to Reuters.
"I was taken by the regime," he told Swedish daily Expressen by telephone from Al-Qamishli. "I feel OK. I'm worn out both in mind and body but I'm OK."
