The Swiss Ambassador to Tehran, Phillipe Welti, met on Saturday, November 5, with the Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, in Teheran to discuss the latest diplomatic turbulence of Iran-Europe relations.
The Islamic Republic News Agency reports that the Iranian Minister criticized the Swiss’ Government for its ‘unfriendly and one-sided positions’ towards Iran and called for ‘mutual respect’ in the countries’ relations, emphasizing that ‘double-standard approaches will not be acceptable’.
The Swiss ambassador, on his part, answered that ‘Iran is a big and very important country’, with which Swiss wants ‘to exchange views’ and ‘expend its diplomatic ties’.
