On day three of the U.S. and Russian diplomatic gathering, several key points regarding “what’s next” for Syria have been established.
-The U.S. and Russia have reached an agreement on the plan for securing Syria's chemical weapons. Some elements include a timetable and expectations for Syria as well as what would happen should Syria fail to follow through. "We have committed to a standard that says, verify and verify." says Kerry.
-The Syrian opposition is expected to select an interim Prime Minister, said Khalid Saleh, a spokesman for the Syrian National Coalition.
-The much anticipated chemical weapons inspectors report on Syria is expected to be released to the Security Council at 11 AM on Monday although there have been warnings that the release date could change due to shifting information.
-In the meantime, US has agreed to table its threat of military action on Syria.
As many factors lay in the balance on the absolute direction Syria is moving, "one day at a time" is the mantra for expected developments.
