General Security Wednesday said it arrested a Syrian man for alleged ties to the extremist group Nusra Front and for his involvement in the 2014 battle against the Lebanese Army in the northeastern border town of Arsal.
A short statement identified the suspect only by his initials KH.Y., adding that he confessed to taking part in the Arsal battle as well as providing “all types of weapons” for Nusra militants entrenched on the town’s outskirts.
General Security said the suspect was handed over to judicial authorities for further interrogation.
