Syrian Information Minister Adnan Omran Friday blasted Britain's threat to use nuclear weapons against Iraq, describing a recent statement made by the British Information Minister on the issue as "irresponsible."

Speaking at the Zayed Center for Coordination and Follow Up (ZCCF), Omran said that all Arab countries were against any attack on Iraq.

Regarding similar threats made by Washington against Damascus, Omran said that Syria was not scared of threats and strongly believed that 240 million Arabs were capable of making history throughout the region.

On the issue of terrorism, the Syrian Minister said that the West considered all Arabs as terrorists and every Arab state as a suspect unless proved otherwise.

With regards to the Saudi Middle East initiative, Omran said that Syria was for complete Israeli withdrawal of all Arab territories including the Syrian Golan Heights and the return of refugees.

He stated that the question of normalization of relations with Israel after it evacuates all Arab lands should be a sovereign decision for each country to make.

In addition, the Syrian Minister praised UAE President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan for his national positions, according to WAM. (Albawaba.com)
