The Operations and Logistics Affairs Department at Dubai Police has introduced a system to link all fuel stations in the emirate directly to Dubai Police.

The new system will indicate the vehicle's identity electronically and immediately - such as vehicle number and fuel consumption amount. This information will be transferred to administration headquarters in minutes, officials said.

Mohammed Eid Al Mansoori, top official at Dubai police, said that the advantages of the system were such that it would cut through red tape and save time and effort. It would also help ease the process of follow up and maintenance of vehicles.

Al Mansoori said in an official statement that this initiative has been taken in order to facilitate Dubai Police tasks and provide the necessary information needed by Major General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai Police Chief, electronically to help him take the right decision quickly.

Nasser Al Sayed Abdulrazaq, Assistant Commander in Chief of Operations and Logistics Affairs Department, also praised the high standards of technology used at the transport and rescue department.

Abdulrazaq also praised the move to transfer electronically annual inspection reports and studies made by the department – Albawaba.com
