Afghanistan's ruling Taliban have once again rejected a US demand to extradite Osama bin Laden to international authorities, according to the Novosty Russian news agency.
Addressing journalists in Karachi on Monday, Taliban Ambassador Abdul Salam Zalef declared that the US had failed to furnish any reliable proof of Bin Laden's involvement in terrorist acts, and reminded the world that Taliban leaders had come up with three different ways of deciding the fate of the disident Saudi tycoon.
The ambassador said his government was ready to accept any decision on Bin Laden passed by the "Islamic Sharia [law] courts of Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and one additional Islamic country," and added that Kabul "would not object to the idea of US Islamic theologians joining the future court commission."
