The Afghan Taliban will release the four remaining Turkish hostages who were seized last month "in the near future", according to a statement released on Monday.

Turkish officials said that four of eight hostages were handed over to the country's intelligence services on Sunday.

Eight Turks were captured by Taliban forces after their helicopter was forced to make a "hard landing" in the eastern Afghan province Logar on April 21, due to bad weather.
