Tanmia, the National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority, has announced that it will be organising an Open Day, a one-day career fair to explore employment opportunities for UAE National job seekers, on July 12, 2007, at Dubai Women’s College. Organised under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Ali Bin Abdullah Al Ka’abi, UAE Minister of Labour and Chairman of Tanmia’s Board of Trustees, the Open Day is being held under the theme ‘Your Future in the Retail Sector’, to boost job prospects for UAE Nationals in the country’s booming retail sector.
During the event, UAE National job seekers will be informed about various employment opportunities that are currently available in UAE’s retail sector, which is witnessing record growth. Recent statistics reveal that the country’s shopping mall growth will increase by 190 per cent by 2010. During this period, retail spending is expected to account for 25 per cent of the UAE’s Gross Domestic Product.
Eng. Ahmad Al Ahmadi, Manager, Tanmia Dubai Office, said, “UAE Nationals are proving their potential in various sectors, and through this Open Day we aim to boost their chances of finding suitable openings in the country’s retail sector. From a Middle East retail industry perspective, the UAE is seen as one of the most strategically important markets, enjoying consistent growth year after year. This scenario has opened up many job openings in the retail sector over the years, which we want to exploit through this Open Day.”

Over 30 leading companies from the retail sector participating in the Open Day will have an opportunity to showcase current job openings, interact with job applicants on a one-to-one basis and shortlist the most suitable candidates for recruitment.
