tejari and ras al khaimah free trade zone to bring e-business opportunities to free zone investors

New portal will provide an online community for 3,000 Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone companies

Tejari, the region’s leading online market place, and Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone, (RAK FTZ) today signed an agreement to create a new online portal, which will offer e-business capabilities to RAK FTZ companies. The portal will create an online free zone, where members can match trade opportunities and leads with other companies in the free zone and with members of Tejari , as well as creating online profiles to showcase their products and services to a global audience.

The portal will be developed by Tejari in partnership with RAK FTZ, and is intended to create a dedicated online community for the free zone, as well as offering companies value added services as part of the RAK FTZ offering.

“Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone is committed to providing our customers with innovative and customized solutions that meet their trading requirements and maximize the value of their presence in the free zone. This portal will create an important new route to market, and give our investors a new showcase for their products and services, to reach partners and customers in global markets,” said Oussama El Omari, CEO, RAK FTZ.

Tejari will create the portal based on the requirements of RAK FTZ, and drawing on its experience with developing community portals that cater to the needs of specific business communities. Tejari community portals include the latest e-business technologies that help trading communities carry out business matchmaking over the Internet. Tejari also offers support and other services to companies that are members of the community portal, to help them maximize their uptake of online commerce opportunities.

“This portal will build on the facilities and services that RAK FTZ already offers to its investors, to add an additional dimension of e-commerce to the free zone. Tejari is already working with many leading companies in the region, and by giving RAK FTZ investors access to the market-making capabilities of e-business, we hope to enable them to identify and access new trading opportunities in many new markets,” said Omar Hijazi, CEO of Tejari.
