Telling time is fun time

Flik Flak brings its time-tested lessons on telling time to Modhesh Fun City

It’s a watch-making brand dedicated solely to children, and it has set camp at the summer special venue for children. At this zone, the children not only get to while their time away colouring, drawing and making new friends, but they also learn the art of telling time if they don’t already know it. If they are old enough to know the hour of the day, they can win some goodies for the same.

Created in 1987, Flik Flak was designed to be more than just a simple children’s watch. It is notably the first ever brand of children’s watch to introduce the concept of teaching time, allowing this learning experience to be transformed into something amusing for children.

Karman Carermencite, one of the staff at the Flik Flak zone explained, “As well as developing very trendy watches in a children’s world where princesses rub shoulders with pirates and explorers, the Flik Flak brand has also developed a method of teaching children to tell the time, which is what we are here to share with the little guests to our zone. It is an educational concept that enables children as young as four to tell the time. The principle developed in collaboration with educationalists and psychologists introduces the characters Flik and Flak.”

In children’s words, Karman explained to her audience of young learners, “Flik, the blue and white “big brother” minute hand, is taller and older than Flak and, of course, he can walk faster. He moves around the 60-minute dial while his little sister. Flak, the red “little sister” hour hand, moves more slowly on her short legs, stepping forward one little hour at a time! They run behind each other, every step they make indicating the time.”

“Flak, the little girl, is the hour hand that should be read first (ladies first); then Flik, the older brother, indicates the minutes. And that is how you read the time!” her class concluded with a loud applause from little hands.

Always closely in touch with children’s fads and crazes, the Flik Flak brand makes telling the time fun with colour-coded hour and minute numbers. The Flik flak time zone not only teaches time but also organises interactive games on the Modhesh Fun stage daily wherein participants and winners both receive gift packs from the brand.
