Thailand has closed its border with Cambodia and suspended almost all ties with its eastern neighbor as diplomatic fallout from overnight riots in Phnom Penh continues to mount.
The Thai step came after a mob of some 1,000 protesters, angry at comments allegedly made by a Thai actress, attacked the Thai embassy and ambassador's residence in the Cambodian capital on Wednesday night.
On Thursday, hundreds of Thais were evacuated from Phnom Penh onboard four Thai Air Force C-130 transport aircraft. (Albawaba.com)
