IIR Middle East has announced that the third annual Middle East HR Summit will be held from 17 to 20 September, 2006, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Dubai. The most comprehensive and dedicated event of its kind in the region, The Middle East HR Summit will provide a much-needed platform for HR professionals to challenge, debate and discuss the issues and developments affecting international and regional HR practice, especially in the wake of major initiatives being undertaken in the UAE.

The highlight of the four-day Summit will be the impressive line-up of expert speakers led by world-renowned strategy guru Professor Gary Hamel who will be making his only ‘live’ public appearance in the Middle East during 2006. Professor Hamel will open the Summit with a practical, future-focused workshop on ‘Reinventing Management-The Why, What and How of Management Innovation’.

Commenting on this year’s event, Jackie Wilks, Conference Director, IIR Middle East said, “There has been an outstanding response to the event over the past two years with over 600 industry professionals attending. Recent government decisions to Emiratise HR management positions make the event all the more significant. The Middle East HR Summit filled a real need among regional HR professionals to address global and regional issues and share industry best practice. This year we will continue to build on the already created knowledge pool and discuss the current challenges faced by the HR profession, continuing to make it the must-attend HR event for the region.”

“The Middle East’s high levels of cultural diversity and mixed-skill workforce in rapidly evolving industries represent unique HR challenges. Added to this are moves towards WTO status and nationalisation mandates. The Summit’s experienced speakers will present case studies from leading local, regional and international blue-chip companies to help shed light on these issues and discuss the practices necessary to achieve them.  The event will serve as the perfect platform to share experiences and gain valuable insights into how to win the war for talent,” she concluded.

Speakers at the Summit will comprise well-known practitioners, consultants, commentators and academics from across the Middle East, the UK, Europe, the Far East and the USA.

The comprehensive event will offer participants presentations from more than 50 expert international and regional HR practitioners, over 30 information packed sessions, three streamed sessions to choose from plus four intensive and highly informative post-summit workshops, social and networking events and the HR Excellence Awards. Running parallel to the summit is an exhibition featuring services and products from regional and international HR service providers.

The Middle East HR Summit 2006 is supported by Basharia, the Abu Dhabi Human Resources Group.  Sponsors are Saudi Development and Training (SDT), Personnel Decisions International, Air Miles Incentives, Crown Relocations, Grafton Recruitment, Spengler Fox, University of Wollongong in Dubai, Mawaride, Sage & Sage Abra and Innovative HR Solutions.
Organised by the event management company, IIR Middle East, The Middle East HR Summit will be attended by more than 50 expert international and regional HR practitioners who will explore new approaches and ideas through talks, debate and practical case studies. The HR Excellence Awards will also be announced during the Summit.
