Thousands of people in cities across Yemen protested against rebel Houthis taking over the governent, AP has reported.
Houthi gunmen fired into the air to try and make the protesters flee in Sanaa and they were reportedly beaten back with sticks and clubs.
There were also protests in Hodeiba, Taiz and Ibb.
Eariler in the day a bomb blast outside the presidential palace wounded three Houthi guards.
The Houthis have dissolved parliament and introduced a new constitutional decree. They are installing a new committee to govern the region's poorest country.
