Three armed Islamic extremists have been killed by Algerian government forces in the Relizane region, some 300 kilometers west of Algiers, newspaper reports said Saturday.
The three extremists were killed on Friday in an operation mounted by the security forces to root out Islamic extremists who are undercover in the region, the papers reported.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, security forces on Thursday defused a bomb that had been placed in a bank in the eastern Algiers suburb of El Harrach, the papers reported, according to AFP. (Albawaba.com)
