Three Israeli soldiers were killed in a lynching by angry Palestinians in the West Bank town of Ramallah on Thursday, an Israeli minister said, up from the two deaths reported earlier.
"Three soldiers were lynched Thursday in Ramallah. It is intolerable," Communications Minister Binyamin Ben Eliezer told Israeli television after leaving an emergency cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Ehud Barak.
The killings triggered a wave of Israeli helicopter raids on Palestinian targets in the West Bank and Gaza Strip – (AFP)
