Three Syrian children were killed when a fire broke out in their room in east Lebanon Monday, the state-run National News Agency said.

Fadi al-Weiss, 4, his brother, Amir, 3, and their sister, Hala, 2, were killed when a fire ravaged a room located on the roof of their apartment complex in the Zahle town of Barr Elias.

The report added no other details of the incident, which was the latest in a recent series of similar tragedies to befall Syrian refugee children in Lebanon.

Last week, three other Syrian children were injured when a fire broke out at a four-story building in the southern city of Sidon.

Those children were aged 12, 10 and 10, and survived the burns sustained when the third floor of the Ouzai complex caught fire. The fire was believed to have been caused by an electrical short circuit.

In March, two Syrian children burned to death when a fire broke out in their house in Dohat Aramoun, south of Beirut.

That incident came one month after three Syrian children died in a fire at their tent in a refugee camp in Bhenin, north Lebanon.
