Toshiba Computer Systems Division Middle East and Africa stole the show at the recent COMEX IT Exhibition in Oman. Exhibiting in partnership with its distributor Bahwan Trading Company LLC, Toshiba's notebook sales accounted for more than 50 percent of the total number of PC notebooks sold during the event.

With a continued trend that sees first time buyers choosing notebooks over desktop PCs and reputable channels over grey imports, Toshiba sales volume grew by more than 150 per cent or three times compared to last year’s event.

“We are extremely excited about these results; they show that Oman is a buoyant market and that Toshiba is working with the right partners to service it efficiently,” commented John Maliakal, Country Manager for Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain, Toshiba Computer System Middle East and Africa. “I believe our success was due in large part to our product strategy - the right mix of products targeting multiple customer profiles.”

Toshiba worked very closely with Bahwan Trading Company LLC to ensure an efficient logistics support throughout the course of the event. “The logistics support provided by Toshiba and Bahwan Trading Company was unparalleled”, commented Mr. Jayaprakash Menon, General Manager of Bahwan Trading Company LLC, Oman. “In addition, our combined sales team was present at the venue to guarantee the highest level of customer support.”

The whole breadth of the Toshiba’s notebook product portfolio is based on the latest Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo and Microsoft’s Vista platform. “We presented multiple options for our customers allowing them to choose the notebooks that suited both their needs and their budget,” concluded Maliakal.
