Tourism to Israel Down by 40 Percent

Tourism to Israel has dropped since the outbreak of the Palestinian uprising (Aqsa Intifada) on 28 September by 40 percent compared with the same respective period last year, the Palestine Times reported, quoting an Israeli tourism officials. 

The sources, quoted by the Israeli State-run radio as saying, "only 128,000 tourists visited Israel this October, which represents a drop by 40 percent compared with the same period last year." 

According to the paper, the Israeli tourism minister had indicated that up to 20 employees working in the tourism sector might be laid off soon if the Palestinian uprising continued - Albawaba.com
