Iran's Industries Minister Gholam-Reza Shafeie on Thursday called on Iranian and Syrian traders to contribute to the expansion of Tehran-Damascus trade cooperation and implementation of joint venture economic projects, reported Iran News Agency (IRNA).

The minister was addressing a meeting of Iranian and Syrian traders on the sidelines of the Damascus International Fair.

Shafeie said "attempts to minimize red tape bureaucracy and use new preferential tariffs will raise the volume of bilateral trade."

He noted that there are positive grounds for mutual cooperation, considering Iran's achievements in the field of industry, especially in areas of cement, auto, ship and machine building, oil and gas storage centers, said the agency – Albawaba.com
