A bus swerved off a mountain road in Mexico killing at least eighteen people and wounding 22 others on Monday.
The bus was travelling between the towns of Tlaltenango and Jalpa, in the state of Zacatecas, when it toppled into a steep valley while trying to negotiate a sharp bend.
Police authorities and soldiers rushed to the crash site to help with the intense rescue effort, according to BBC News.
Zacatecas State Governor Ricardo Monreal, who was in Mexico City meeting with President Vicente Fox, sent his private helicopter to airlift the injured to hospitals for medical treatment. (Albawaba.com)
