NBK's Iftar Banquets is witnessing Impressive Attendance by Fasters during the Early Days of Ramadan
Al Turki: We aim to distribute more than 100,000 Iftar meals this year.
National Bank of Kuwait’s Al Watani Iftar banquet campaign launched with the commencement of the Holy Month of Ramadan as part of an extensive social program comprising a multitude of philanthropic activities, is garnishing impressive attendance with hundreds of fasters attending the two large tents set up in Kuwait city and Salmiya.
Commenting on the occasion, NBK – PR Officer, Talal Al Turki said that Al Watani Iftar banquets, an annual NBK philanthropic tradition and a landmark activity within the bank's corporate social responsibility, acquires much more momentum this year as a result of widening the scale of Iftar meals distribution to embrace most mosques, strategic and crowded locations in Kuwait, in addition to the involvement of a larger number of NBK staff volunteers attending fasters at the two large Iftar tents and participating in the distribution of fast-breaking meals to the various mosques and areas in the country.
Al Turki added that Al Watani Iftar banquets campaigns in Ramadan had witnessed an increasingly remarkable success throughout the last few years, whereas, last year's Al Watani Iftar banquets had set a record number of more than 100,000 Iftar meals offered to fasters. In light of the impressive attendance during the early days of Ramadan this year, it is expected that a new record number will be set this year as well.
It is worth mentioning that NBK had basically initiated the "Do Good Deeds in Ramadan" campaign 16 years ago to reflect the philanthropic spirit of Ramadan through donating the proceeds of the campaign to various humanitarian and charitable organizations. However, three years ago, NBK decided to totally devote the campaign to a more tangible and concrete action that directly affects Ramadan needy fasters and offer them free Iftar meals throughout the whole month of Ramadan via a well concerted campaign that involves NBK staff volunteers.
