ALBAWABA - Next Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will go to Washington, D.C., to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House. They will likely talk about Iran's nuclear program.

A statement from Netanyahu's office says that the meeting will be mostly about continuing talks with Tehran about nukes. Israeli news outlets say that Netanyahu will try to get any future deal with Iran to include strict limits on its ballistic missile program and an end to Tehran's financial and military support of friendly regional groups.

A White House official said that Netanyahu asked for the visit to be pushed back a week so that he could meet Trump on Wednesday. This shows how important the problem is to Israel.

Rising tensions in the region

In the Middle East, things are getting worse between Washington and Tel Aviv and Tehran. This is why the talks are happening. In June of last year, the US and Israel launched a short military operation against Iran. They attacked nuclear facilities and sites that make missiles together.

After those hits, Iran is said to have started to rebuild parts of its nuclear and missile infrastructure, which made both Washington and Tel Aviv even more worried.

Different Approaches

People think that Netanyahu takes a very tough stand on Iran because he says that any agreement must cover everything and be hard to get around. He has said many times that he doesn't think Iran will keep its promises and that continued economic and military pressure could finally bring down the Iranian government.

The meeting also comes after the two partners kept working together. Not long ago, Trump's representative Steve Witkoff met with Netanyahu in Jerusalem to talk about the same problems.

Reports say that there are still differences in method, even though they work together closely. People say that Trump wants a broad deal that uses both diplomacy and pressure. On the other hand, Netanyahu has said that he wants stronger military action if talks fail.
