ALBAWABA - A foundation for an agreement is already in place, according to U.S. President Donald Trump, who expressed great hope about talks with Iran.

As a top U.S. group travels to Islamabad for a possible fresh round of talks, the statements are made. However, there is still doubt about the delegation's leadership and if the negotiations would go as scheduled.

Iranian officials seem more circumspect, while Washington exudes confidence. According to reports, Tehran is reducing expectations and is still doubtful of U.S. intentions because of worries about potential escalation.

Significant differences still exist, according to those acquainted with the discussions, especially when it comes to uranium enrichment and current stocks, which are obstacles to a final agreement.

Expectations for a short-term accord are still low despite continuous diplomatic efforts. According to reports, mediators are looking toward temporary fixes, such as prolonging the present truce to give talks more time.

Both parties are still far from coming to a full deal, which illustrates the disconnect between popular optimism and the realities of difficult discussions also.
