Tunisia’s ruling Islamist party office in the town of Kef was torched by angry protesters on Thursday, an AFP photographer reported.

The walls of the building were burned and equipment inside it destroyed, with witnesses saying that protesters had ransacked the office in the morning.

The news comes as Tunisia’s opposition Salvation Front called for more protests on Thursday demanding an immediate departure of the Islamist-led government.

Thousands of opposition members, including leftists and union activists, took to the streets of the capital, Tunis, on Wednesday calling for the Cabinet to resign.
