The Faculty of Human and Social Sciences in the University of Tunis is hosting a two days conference April 14-15 titled the "Modernity of George Sand". The conference, which is organized by the "Women and the Mediterranean" research unit, is going to be attended by a large number of Tunisian and French professors that will gather to discuss the important contribution of George Sand's writings.
<i>La Presse</i> reports that among the themes that will be discussed during the conference "G Sand, her modernities and ours (1829-1837)" (Jose-Shine Diaz, University of Paris), "G Sand and punctuation: a plea for the freedom of writers "(Zouhour Ben Aziza, University of Tunis) and "History of my life, an autobiography of a woman?" (Christine Plante, University of Lyon).
