Tunisian Minister of Defense Dali Jazi held talks on military cooperation Wednesday with visiting United States Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Marc Grossman, officials said.
The two reviewed cooperation programs in numerous military spheres, the TAP news agency reported.
Grossman arrived in Tunis on Tuesday and went straight into a meeting on Iraq with Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi and Foreign Affairs Minister Habib Ben Yahia.
Grossman told a news briefing that he had spoken of the "steps taken by the United States in the UN Security Council to obtain a strong and firm resolution, which would guarantee the elimination of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction". Such a resolution would "make it possible to avoid a war", he said. (Albawaba.com)
