Following an invitation from the embassy of Canada in Tunis, a meeting took place recently between the Tunisian Association of Digital Geographic Information (ATIGN- l’Association tunisienne de l’information geographique numerique) and the representative of Canada in the field of geomatics. <i>La Presse</i> reports that the president of the data processing department of ATIGN and representatives of the Canadian Embassy and experts in geomatics met and discussed the need to enhance the scientific co-operation between the two countries expressing their common interest in co-operation. During the meeting, the President of ATIGN has also noted that they have launched a web site (www.atign.org.tn), which will be a tool to follow the developments in geomatics in Tunisia.
