Tunisian Economy Leading the Way

The Tunisian economy achieved a 6.2% growth rate in 1999, compared to 5% in 1998, according to a recently released report by the Tunisian Central Bank.  


This represents the highest economic growth rate among the the Arab Maghreb countries in 1999. The report attributes this high growth to major improvements in the agricultural and tourism sectors.
