A military patrol, on Saturday, fired at an off-road vehicle in the buffer zone, 15 km from Borj El Khadhra in southern Tunisia.

Ten people from Maghreb countries (Moroccans and Algerians) were in the vehicle which was coming from Algeria. Four passengers were shot and injured by the military forces.

Spokesman for the Ministry of Defence, Belhassen Oueslati told TAP “military forces, who, initially, fired warning shots, were forced to shot at the vehicle whose driver refused to obey orders to stop.”

During the interrogation, the individuals said they were  planning to go to Libya to illegally travel to Europe.

The arrested people will be transferred to the security authorities to take the necessary measures, added Oueslati.
