Tunisian Prime Minister Muhammad Ghannouchi called on Friday for further expansion of cooperation with Iran.
He made the remark in a meeting with the visiting Iranian deputy foreign minister in charge of Arab and African Affairs, Mohammad Sadr, said the official Iranian news agency, IRNA.
Referring to his April visit to Tehran, Ghannouchi termed his talks with senior Iranian officials as successful.
Commenting on several common points between the two nations and many identical viewpoints in the two countries' foreign policy, he stressed that the agreements reached between the two sides during the visit would benefit both countries.
On efforts made by his government to further expand bilateral relations, the Tunisian premier expressed his satisfaction with cooperation between the two countries' companies, said IRNA.
For his part, the Iranian diplomat said that expansion of ties with the Islamic countries was one of the priorities of President Khatami's foreign policy.
