Turkey's parliament on Wednesday extended permission for a US-led force to use a Turkish base for patrols of a no-fly zone over northern Iraq, AP reported.

US and British warplanes take off from Incirlik air base in southern Turkey to monitor the zone established after the 1991 Gulf War.

Iraq has frequently criticized Turkey for allowing its base to be used. The last mandate would have expired Dec. 31. (Albawaba.com)
