Turkey will revise its relationship with the EU if the grouping ties Ankara's membership to the resolution of the Cyprus conflict and territorial disputes with Greece, Turkish Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit warned Saturday.
"Turkey can never accept the issues of Cyprus and territorial disputes (with Greece) as a political criteria," Ecevit told reporters after a meeting with foreign ministry officials.
"I hope the EU will consider properly the sensitivities of the Turkish government and public opinion. Otherwise, re-evaluating our relationship with the EU will become inevitable," he added.
He declined to elaborate on what steps Turkey might take if its demands were not met – ANKARA (AFP)
