A Turkish court has ordered the telecommunications authority to restore Twitter, reports the Associated Press. Lawyers and the opposition party recently called for courts to overturn the ban on Twitter, saying it was unconstitutional.

The injunction comes five days after the Turkish government shut down the popular social networking site because users posted comments about government corruption.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he would “rip out the roots” of the site, yet many Turkish citizens quickly found ways to bypass the ban, according to AP.

It is not clear if the telecommunications authority will follow the court order.
