Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was hospitalized Tuesday after suffering a sudden drop in blood pressure, news reports said. The prime minster was taken to the hospital after he had difficulty opening a car door, private CNN-Turk and NTV television reported.
According to CNN-Turk, Erdogan was seen by a cardiologist and was in stable condition. His spokesman Akif Beki said there was no need for alarm.
Erdogan was due to address his ruling Justice and Development Party.
