Turkish Police Seize 134.9 Kilograms of Heroin

Turkish police seized 114.9 kilograms of heroin in an anti-narcotic operation in Antalya, southwest Turkey, on Wednesday, Anatolia news agency reported. 

Two more kilograms of morphine and 61.7 kilograms of opium were also confiscated, said the agency, quoting Antalya provincial police chief Mehmet Yazici as saying. 

"The police units mounted a raid on a drug production center in Antalya and took seven people into custody, seizing two Kalashnikov rifles, one gun and bullets.  

Meanwhile police also launched an operation in Turkey's largest city of Istanbul. A total of 20 kilograms of heroin were confiscated in a house and two people were detained -- Albawaba.com
