Turkish security forces shot dead two Bangladeshi illegals and wounded three other people when they opened fire on a group trying to enter Turkey from Iran, a local official said Wednesday.

Border troops opened fire on the group, including 16 Bangladeshis and a Pakistani, when they refused to obey verbal orders and warning shots to stop, the governor of Agri province, Tahsin Cumhur Ersoy, told Anatolia news agency.

The three wounded immigrants were hospitalized, while 12 others were detained, Ersoy added. The incident happened near the town of Dogubeyazit. He did not specify when the incident took place.
