A Turkish teenager risks three years in jail for designing an Internet site under his teacher's name and publishing made-up stories of her sexual life, Turkish newspapers reported yesterday.
The trial of the 16-year-old boy on charges of contempt via the Internet opened on Thursday in Istanbul.
The teen, who was temporarily suspended from school, told the judge he was forced to design the website by a student from an upper class.
"He threatened to beat me and I downloaded the stories he had written. I am sorry," the boy was quoted as saying by the mass-circulation Hurriyet daily.
The teacher, Leman Aygun, went to the courts after a colleague warned her about the existence of the site – (AFP)
