TVision Announces Largest Celebrity Reality TV Show That Will Sweep the Arab World

TVision, Egypt’s leading media production company focusing on unscripted programs, in cooperation with Promomedia, the largest media representation house in Egypt, announced today that it will be producing an exciting new television program, Al Tagrebah, to debut during Ramadan 2008.  The program, which will be directed by Mohamed Shaker and featuring well-known celebrities from the region, will be the first ever of its kind for the Arab World.

The show comes from the same people that created and produced Al Shakka, which received widespread praise from viewers.  Broadcast during Ramadan 2007, Al Shakka quickly became known as one of the most popular programs in the history of Arab television. The Museum of Radio and Television in Los Angeles rated it as the most successful program in the Arab World during Ramadan, while almost all of Egypt’s leading newspapers, websites, and radio stations voted it the number one program during that period.

“It’s a challenge to give Arab viewers something we know they will respond to,” stated TVision CEO Tarek Ganainy, “but I’m confident we’ve hit the mark with Al Tagrebah. As the Arab World’s first celebrity reality TV show, Al Tagrebah will have all the same qualities that made our previous work so appealing; its innovative, fun, and a fresh break from the rest of the programming that viewers will see during Ramadan.”

Once again, TVision will be working alongside Promomedia, reprising the roles they played together with Al Shakka.  “With Promomedia as our distributor, we know we are getting an industry leader, whose aggressive, energetic approach, is a perfect fit for Al Tagrebah,” added Tarek.

Promo Media CEO Amgad Sabry agreed, and expressed his hopes for the new program.  “There is a lot of strong competition during this period, so we know we have to bring only the best to viewers.  Viewership is high during this time of year, and we’re confident that more people will be watching Al Tagrebah than any other program.”
