ALBAWABA- A person was killed following two explosions near Brazil's Supreme Court in Brasília.
Federal Police reported finding a body near the Supreme Court, located in Plaza de los Tres Poderes, which also houses the Presidential Palace and Congress, after the sound of two explosions prompted the court's evacuation.
The police described the incident as an "attack" and announced an investigation to determine the details surrounding the explosions.
Authorities confirmed President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was not in the Presidential Palace at the time. The palace was subsequently closed, and police patrolled the area.
The Supreme Court also issued a statement confirming the sound of two loud explosions and the safe evacuation of its judges.
It’s noteworthy that Brasília’s government buildings experienced a significant security breach in January 2023, when thousands of supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro stormed the Supreme Court, Congress, and Presidential Palace following Lula’s election win.
