Two bombs exploded almost simultaneously Friday at separate spots on the European side of Istanbul, causing material damage but no casualties, Anatolia news agency reported.
One of the blasts occurred in a fast-food restaurant in a shopping mall in Fatih district when a homemade bomb left in a plastic bag under a table went off, the agency said.
The second bomb exploded in a shop in a petrol station on a highway in the district of Gungoren, the agency said.
Police officials, who launched an investigation into the incidents, said the explosions caused only minor damage -- ISTANBUL (AFP)
