Two Iranians, both sentenced to death for murder, were hanged in Tehran's Qasr Prison at dawn Wednesday, reported the official Iranian news agency, IRNA, citing a press report on Thursday.

The daily Tose'eh said one of them had recently stabbed an athlete to death in a clash.

Another such murderer was hanged in public Wednesday, said IRNA.

He had killed his foreman last year by stabbing him with a sharp object.

This latest executions come in the wake of an announcement made earlier by the head of the Tehran Criminal Court, Nasser Seraj, that the Supreme Court had upheld the death sentences imposed on some 100 convicted murderers – Albawaba.com
