Jordanian police issued a final casualty toll Saturday of two dead and three wounded from a shootout at a mass wedding in an Amman school.

They said there was "a vendetta" that caused Khaled Kahlout, 22, to open fire with a revolver and shoot dead wedding guest Said Harazin, 30.

Harazin's brother Adel then pulled out his revolver and shot Khalout dead, firing on police and wounding three of them as they arrested him.

Friday's wedding brought together 70 couples with 5,000 guests.

The Al-Afaf Organization has been arranging mass weddings since 1995 to help young people who cannot afford ordinary weddings to get married.

The president of the association, Abdel Latif Arabeyat, said Saturday that despite the incident, his group would continue to work to help young people get married - AMMAN (AFP)
