In the Islamic Republic of Iran, two parliament members from the western province of Hamedan, where a court earlier this week sentenced university professor Hashem Aghajari to death have resigned in protest of the verdict, IRNA reported Sunday.

Hossein Loqmanian, whose imprisonment this year turned into an impasse between the Parliament and Judiciary, and Mohammad-Reza Ali-Hosseini have formally submitted their resignations to the Parliament's Presiding Board. (Albawaba.com)
