ALBAWABA- At least two people were killed and 19 others wounded in Israeli airstrikes on the outskirts of Daraa, southern Syria, as Israel continues its military aggression in the region.
According to Syria’s state news agency SANA, Israeli warplanes launched multiple strikes targeting areas around Daraa city.
Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the attack struck a military site hosting forces from Syria’s new army.
The Israeli army stated that its recent attacks in Syria targeted command headquarters and military sites belonging to the former regime, following attempts to restore their operational capacity.
The army described the presence of such military infrastructure in southern Syria as a direct threat to Israel, vowing to prevent any military buildup in the region and take action against it.
The latest assault follows an Israeli airstrike last Thursday on the Syrian capital, Damascus, which targeted what Israel claimed was a command center linked to the Palestinian group Islamic Jihad.
Syrian authorities said three civilians were injured in that attack, including a woman in critical condition.
Israel has ramped up its airstrikes across Syria, citing military targets, but Syrian officials and monitoring groups warn that these attacks often result in civilian casualties and escalate tensions in the war-torn country.
