Two people were killed and seven injured Friday when Turkish police opened fire on a minibus carrying illegal migrants, reported the Turkish Daily News.
The police opened fire when the bus driver refused orders to stop, the paper reported.
The incident occurred in the southern Turkish region of Hatay near the Syrian border.
The bus driver, Mehmet Altan, a Turk, and passenger Kreyz Ram from India were killed, the paper said.
The other passengers - 4 Iranians, 2 Sudanese, and an Indian - were treated for minor injuries and detained by police.
The migrants had entered Turkey illegally, the police said.
