Two Lebanese killed, UN soldiers injured in road accident

Two Lebanese were killed and a third wounded in Sidon, Lebanon on Saturday in a road accident that also left four Fijian United Nations peacekeepers hurt, police said.  

 

The accident occurred between a civilian car and a jeep of the Fijian battalion of the United Nations Interim Forces in southern Lebanon (UNIFIL) on the southern edge of Sidon.  

 

Car driver Hassan Ahmad Jaffal was killed instantly while his daughter died in the hospital where she had been taken along with her injured mother, they said, according to AFP. Four Fijian soldiers were also taken to hospital, they said. (Albawaba.com)
