Palestinians said Monday night that some twenty tanks entered the village of Karara, near Khan Yunis, in the Gaza Strip. One Palestinian was killed and three others wounded in this incident, Palestinian sources said.
Earlier, an Israeli soldier was killed and three others were wounded Monday evening by Palestinian gunfire near the West Bank city of Hebron, close to the western entrance to the settlement of Kiryat Arba.
According to Israeli media reports, troops located the house from where they suspect the shots were fired, surrounded it, and fired anti-tank missiles at it. The body of a Palestinian fighter was found early Tuesday in the wreckage of the building, Israel Radio reported.
On Friday, two Israeli settlers were killed when two Hamas members attacked Kiryat Arba settlement.
Meanwhile, Haaretz reported Tuesday that the Israeli army plans to deport several relatives of Muhammed Kawasme, the bomber who blew himself up on a bus in Haifa last week, killing 17 people, from Hebron to the Gaza Strip.
